Vocational education and training (VET) is evolving in exciting ways all across Europe. The European Commission organises the first European Vocational Skills Week to inspire people to discover and use their talent through vocational training. It will be organised from 5 to 9 December 2016 in Brussels, in parallel with activities in Member States and other participating countries at national, regional and local levels.

Training, skills and qualification for building professionals   The PROF/TRAC project offers an Open Training Platform and Qualification scheme for Continuing Professional Development, boosting the Nearly Zero - Energy Buildings (nZEBs) sector. This 3-year EU funded project which is within the framework of Horizon 2020, will develop an ambitious European training and qualification scheme as a support mechanism to professionals dealing with nearly zero energy buildings (nZEB).

PROF/TRAC project | Open training and Qualification Platform on NZEB construction and renovation   PROF/TRAC is a 3-year EU funded project with 15 partners from eight countries. It started in March 2015 and was initiated by an interdisciplinary team representing stakeholders dealing with nZEB construction and refurbishment: universities, European umbrella associations of engineers, architects and social housing, and some of their national members.

This report comprises of 11 reports prepared by partners of the MEnS (Meeting of Energy Professional Skills) consortium for each participating country, on the results of national surveys for the identification of the most important contents and European best examples in relation to Nearly Zero Energy Buildings (NZEB) requirements to be included in the national accreditation courses. Στο πλαίσιο της Δομής Δια Βίου Μάθησης του Α.Π.Θ. διοργανώνεται δια ζώσης εκπαιδευτικό πρόγραμμα με τίτλο «Κτίρια σχεδόν μηδενικής κατανάλωσης ενέργειας – Σχεδιασμός, Μετατροπή».   Η εκπαίδευση θα υλοποιηθεί τον Ιανουάριο- Μάρτιο 2016.   Το πρόγραμμα απευθύνεται σε αποφοίτους Πολυτεχνικών Σχολών ή Σχολών Τεχνολογικών Εφαρμογών όλων των ειδικοτήτων, οι οποίοι δραστηριοποιούνται ή ενδιαφέρονται να ασχοληθούν με το σχεδιασμό νέων κτιρίων «Near Zero Energy Building» (ΝΖΕΒ) ή με την ενεργειακή αναβάθμιση κτιρίων ώστε να γίνουν κτίρια ΝΖΕΒ.

The 2020 energy and climate objectives of EU countries require a major effort to increase the number of qualified construction workers, capable of delivering high energy performing renovations and, in particular, nearly zero energy buildings. This is directly related to the quality of the educational programs and the inclusion of training on intelligent Energy Efficiency (EE) and Renewable Energy Sources (RES) in buildings.
