Training, skills and qualification for building professionals   The PROF/TRAC project offers an Open Training Platform and Qualification scheme for Continuing Professional Development, boosting the Nearly Zero - Energy Buildings (nZEBs) sector. This 3-year EU funded project which is within the framework of Horizon 2020, will develop an ambitious European training and qualification scheme as a support mechanism to professionals dealing with nearly zero energy buildings (nZEB).

While signals are positive, the current regulation draft being debated in the European Parliament avoids mentioning housing or housing retrofit as a priority for the European Fund for Strategic Investments (EFSI), leaving excessive flexibility as to what the fund can actually support with the risk that large scale infrastructural projects will be the primary target.

The report is focused on the EU energy savings targets defined by the Energy Performance Buildings Directive (EPBD) and the challenges on implementing the Directive in the public, cooperative and social housing.
