Highly Innovative building control Tools Tackling the energy performance Gap     The actual energy consumption of buildings in Europe often significantly exceeds the expected energy requirements. This gap in energy performance can arise from construction errors or from differences between the way a building was intended to be used and how it is actually used.   An energy management platform could help to reduce this energy gap - and this will be easier thanks to a new and innovative energy reporting platform.

Der Deutsche Wetterdienst hat im Rahmen eines Forschungsprojekts neue Testreferenzjahre (Test Reference Year = TRY) veröffentlicht. Diese enthalten stündliche meteorologische Daten an einem Standort und werden z.B. von Planern und Ingenieuren für heizungs- und klimatechnischen Simulationen genutzt. Bei den neuen Datensätzen handelt es sich um räumlich hochauflösende Daten, d.h. für jeden Quadratkilometer des Bundesgebietes gibt es einen eigenen Datensatz. Bisher wurde Deutschland in lediglich 15 Klimaregionen eingeteilt.

Modelling Optimization of Energy Efficiency in Buildings for Urban Sustainability     MOEEBIUS project is an answer to H2020-EeB-2015 call in the topic: New tools and methodologies to reduce the gap between predicted and actual energy performances at the level of buildings and blocks of buildings.   The project Consortium involves 15 Partners representing research institutions, ESCOs, SMEs, universities, public bodies from 10 countries.

IEA-EBC Annex 66: Definition and Simulation of Occupant Behavior in Buildings   The Executive Committee of the International Energy Agency Energy in Buildings and Communities programme (IEA EBC) approved the “IEA- EBC Annex 66 Definition and Simulation of Occupant Behaviour in Buildings” in 2013. The project will run till 2017.
