NZEB - Near Zero-Energy Buildings

This paper focuses on the definition of Nearly zero energy buildings (NZEBs) that represent one of the greatest opportunities to increase energy savings in Europe. As this term appears to be subject to different interpretations, the paper explores the NZEB literature to provide an overview of definitions. Aeropolis is an urban UFO. Its compact form sits square on street alignment south just to show it does belong there, discretely steps back west liberating a sunny plaza like a breather off the busy boulevard, and humbly aligns its cornice levels with the massive KINETIX next door. The resulting built form wraps itself around a federating patio ensuring optimal daylight entry for all occupants. So it is a respectful UFO.

Unfortunately, it is true - not all renovation works are of the quality we hope and pray for, and there’s a good reason for that – in general, professionals rarely have the knowledge, skills and experience necessary to deliver a quality renovation project: one that not only saves energy, but increases your comfort, ensures good air quality, benefits your health and productivity, and in the end - makes you happy and satisfied, being confident your money’s well spent.
