Nearly Zero-Energy Buildings (NZEB), and even more Positive Energy Buildings, demand for higher quality within their construction process in order to deliver the high performances they are designed for. Among the possible solutions to guarantee building performances, ICT (e.g. building automation and quality management tools) is one of the best answers and it is expected to grow further in the near future.

The Uhland school in Stuttgart was undergoing renovation to plus energy level during the last 2 years. Now, the construction work is completed and the pupils and teachers can move back into the main building of the school at the beginning of 2017. The building envelope was insulated with high-efficient expanded polystyrene (EPS). On top of the basement slab and at the gable walls vacuum insulation was used. The new windows are triple glazed. All classrooms were equipped with CO2-controlled decentralised ventilation units with heat recovery.

Die Uhlandschule in Stuttgart wurde in den letzten 2 Jahren zu einer Plusenergieschule saniert. Jetzt sind die Bauarbeiten fertig und der Wiedereinzug der Schüler und Lehrer in das Hauptgebäude der Schule kann zu Beginn des Jahres 2017 stattfinden. Die Gebäudehülle wurde mit hocheffizientem expandierten Polystyrol (EPS) gedämmt. Auf der Bodenplatte und den beiden Giebelwänden kam Vakuumdämmung zum Einsatz. Die neuen Fenster sind dreifachverglast. Alle Klassenzimmer sind mit dezentralen CO2-gesteuerten Lüftungsanlagen mit Wärmerückgewinnung ausgestattet.

The Habitat Social Positif - HSP (Positive Social Housing project), which is comprised of two row houses T3 and T4, forms part of a sustainable development project which has brought together various sectors on different levels:  the regional government of Languedoc Roussillon, the municipiality of Castelnaudary who directly involved the lycée Andréossy (technical school for the building trade), the social landlord Habitat Audois as well as a local construction manufacturer (TERREAL).

Après le bâtiment basse consommation ou passif, la prochaine étape est le bâtiment producteur d’énergie renouvelable. Le développement des bâtiments à énergie positive, obligatoires à partir de 2020, pose la question de la valorisation de l’énergie – électricité, chaleur ou froid – qu’ils produisent en excédent. Si le modèle de collecte d’électricité renouvelable produite par les bâtiments existe déjà (solaire photovoltaïque), cela reste à développer avec les réseaux de chaleur et de froid.
