Die Evaluierung der KfW-Förderung für kommunale Nichtwohngebäude durch das Fraunhofer Institut IFAM ergab eine deutliche Steigerung des Investitionsvolumens für die Jahre 2011 bis 2014. Während in den Jahren 2007 bis 2011 noch 625 Mio. EUR unter Zuhilfenahme von KfW-Förderung in die Energieeffizienz von öffentlichen Nutzgebäuden investiert wurde, waren es 2011 bis 2014 1,4 Mrd. EUR. 608 Mio. EUR davon wurden über KfW-Programme in insgesamt 1400 geförderten Objekten finanziert.

The Nordic Investment Bank (NIB) and the Republic of Lithuania have signed a loan agreement, totalling EUR 100 million, with a maturity of 20 years, to improve energy efficiency in public and residential buildings. The long-term loan will finance the renovation of apartment buildings with a total surface area of 4 million square meters and 49 public buildings, mainly hospitals, health centers and community centers.
