Smart and flexible 100% renewable district heating and cooling systems for European cities
SmartReFlex, an Intelligence Energy Europe (IEE) project, aimed to inspire the development of sustainable district heating and cooling solutions for the future by setting up an exchange of ideas, expertise and experience.
The project actions have aimed at increasing the diffusion of smart and flexible district heating and cooling systems including high shares of renewable energy sources (high-RES DHC) in European towns and cities.

The renovation project "Paint it Green" was undertaken by the owner company CoRI - Coating Research Institute after identifying two important concepts: the need for more space as well as the modernization of the company image. Energy efficient and Cost competitive retrofitting solutions for Shopping buildings

The Horizon 2020 funded DREEAM project (Demonstrating an integrated Renovation approach for Energy Efficiency At the Multi-building scale) aims to show that renovating at a larger scale opens the opportunity for a better integration of renewable energy and is generally more cost effective. The project demonstrates a multi-building and single owner renovation approach that can achieve a 75% reduction of total energy demand.
