Designed to demonstrate a building's compliance to the requirements of the Commercial Building Incentive Program (CBIP) performance path approach. EE4 CBIP is offered by Natural Resources Canada's Office of Energy Efficiency to building owners and developers for the design and construction of new commercial and institutional buildings that use 25% less energy than similar buildings built to the requirements of the Model National Energy Code for Buildings (MNECB). EE4 CBIP may also be used to perform non-compliance energy analyses and thus to predict a building's annual energy consumption, and to assess the impact of design changes to the building. Alternatively, EE4 CBIP can be used to determine a building's heating and cooling loads for equipment sizing. EE4 CBIP calculations are based on an approved version of DOE-2.1E.
