Temperature distribution within a Complex Fenestration System resulting from the CFD simulation

This tool is a simulation methodology for assessing the thermal performance of Complex Fenestration Systems (CFS). In this simulation approach, solar radiation is treated with a detailed optical model based on ray tracing and using the software Radiance. The resulting absorbed fraction of solar radiation is included in a CFD simulation, performed with COMSOL Multiphysics, capable of modelling both heat transfer and fluid flow. This method is suitable to quantify secondary heat fluxes as well as layer temperatures, since both these elements strongly depend on solar radiation and fluid flow.
