At the EXPO 2017 in the Kazakh capital Astana, Germany with its theme “Energy on Track” presents how the energy transition “made in Germany” is realised. One of the exhibition rooms is the “City of Tomorrow” in which a walk-in the “Efficient House Plus” turned upside down is illustrated. German cutting edge technology is offered up close and personal. The exhibits show how energy efficient energy use is possible without sacrificing building culture, aesthetics and quality of life in the 21st century. An interactive map of Germany informs on different house typologies, design concepts, building technologies and material of all efficiency house plus pilot projects. A cross section of an interactive efficiency house plus model provides information to specific characteristics of these buildings.
