This season, we focus on District Heating and Cooling – a sector that could become one of the most important contributors to the EU Green Deal and Energy Transition. Heating and cooling drives half of the energy consumption in Europe. However, more than two thirds of demand is met with fossil fuels. Changing the conventional fossil paradigm in heating and cooling is essential for reaching the EU decarbonisation goals.
