£50,000 prize for app that helps businesses to go green!

A prize of £50,000 is on offer to software developers who can produce the best App to help businesses in Scotland reduce their carbon emissions.

The opening Registration date was March 13 and goes to May 15, 2012.

First round entries need to be in by June 10 and finalists will be invited to make full presentations in July or August, 2012.

The Scottish Government, SSE, SEPA and Microsoft have launched a national competition to create a software application that helps Scotland’s SMEs respond to these ambitious climate change goals by measuring, managing and reducing their carbon emissions.  This application is targeted specifically at small and medium-sized businesses and will raise business awareness amongst SMEs of climate change requirements, measure progress towards carbon reduction, or assist SMEs in either carbon management or enhanced energy efficiency.
