There is one heat pumping technology with a very large number of users worldwide which is not normally thought of as a heat pump application. This heat pumping technology is Air Conditioning (AC) or more correctly, space cooling. 
In this issue of the Heat Pump Centre Newsletter we take a look at space cooling markets and trends in North America and Europe (France); we plan to present the situation in Japan in the next issue. We also get advice on detection and leakage prevention of refrigerants. Furthermore, the Foreword presents the total management system in Japan while the Column gives an account of the heat pump situation in South Korea. Finally, the next IEA Heat Pump Conference in Rotterdam is announced.
