Electrically-driven heat pumps represent a solution to dramatically improve the efficiency of energy use for space and water heating. However, there is a lack of data in costs and performance of heat pumps available for policy makers, researchers and other stakeholders.

 

This report tries to fill this gap of knowledge by providing an overview of heat pump technologies and their applications, it discusses the use of heat pumps both in new and existing buildings, it examines the market developments of heat pumps, and provides a detailed analysis of cost and performance of heat pumps.
