Successful national qualification schemes for construction workers partly depend on market acceptance. This concerns encouraging workers to participate in training and encouraging those responsible for selecting contractors / workers for construction projects to choose skilled workers. Against this backdrop, the TWG on market acceptance addresses the following issues:
- Key challenges when ‘selling’ skills into the construction sector;
- Market research on the wishes of the construction sector and the alignment of these wishes with the sector’s needs to meet policy targets;
- Best practices in marketing training in construction and other comparable sectors;
- Ways to encourage employers / clients of construction projects to favour more skilled workers over those lacking training.
