On 01.01.2021, the nearly zero-energy building standard will be implemented for new buildings in EU countries. The construction sector is thus facing both the major task of executing the lowest energy standard of buildings and ongoing changes in the labour market.

La implementación del sistema DGNB System en cada país requiere la adaptación a las condiciones específicas del mismo.

Around the world, the Covid-19 crisis is driving policymakers to grapple with a public health emergency while simultaneously devising social and economic relief and recovery strategies.   Since 2015, global improvements in energy intensity – a key measure of the economy’s energy efficiency – have been declining. This trend suggests that there is an urgent need for action to boost energy efficiency. The Covid-19 crisis adds an extra layer of uncertainty.

Concept:   Advanced data analytics can allow building and market actors to integrate and improve their value chain.   The EU-funded BEYOND project will develop a reference Big Data management platform with an advanced artificial intelligence (AI) analytics toolkit that will allow the acquisition of derivative data and intelligence in addition to real-life building data and relevant data from external sources.

There is a growing need to take advantage of this largely untapped resource.   The EU-funded SELMA project will address the ingestion and monitoring of large amounts of data.

Ireland has set an ambitious target of 70% renewables share by 2030. Success will be based on overcoming the challenges and embracing the possibilities. This will not be achieved alone.   The tremendous growth of renewable energy sources (RES) in our power systems is based on many years of dedicated research and technology development.
