AimThe aim of campaign is to enable country-specific discussion and capacity building of the core stakeholders, which should enable better understanding of a business model based on investments financed by savings, address issues such as accounting of public deficit and debt, increase the confidence of the core stakeholders towards reliability and effectiveness of the EPC model, and help Member States with establishing an enabling legal and financial framework for the market with energy services.

Hannover, 22.11.2012 – More than half of the overall world population is living in urban areas - with rising tendency. The permanently increasing urbanization can be driven to more sustainability by ecological concepts for mobility, energy-efficient buildings and intelligent energy supply. Intelligent energy supply had also been the main subject of the well-attended “Sustainable Energy in Buildings and Urban Areas” Symposium (SEBUA 2012) which took place in Kusadasi near Izmir/Turkey from October 14 – 20, 2012.

Installers of Small-Scale Renewable Energy Systems

Article 14(3) of the Directive on the promotion of the use of energy from renewable sources (Directive 2009/28/EC or RES Directive) states that "Member States shall ensure that certification schemes or equivalent qualification schemes become or are available by 31 December 2012 for installers of small-scale biomass boilers and stoves, solar photovoltaic and solar thermal systems, shallow geothermal systems and heat pumps.

The campaign „Living warmer” is an activity to promote information on energy performance of buildings and other EPBD related issues for entrepreneurs, professionals and citizens, distributed through informative seminars, publications and the Internet.   The “Living warmer” campaign was launched on February 2010, when the Ministry of Economy, industry associations and business signed a cooperation memorandum. Within the Memorandum of Cooperation, the parties agreed on joint cooperation in the housing renovation market.

The calculation methodology is based on the corresponding CEN Technical Report CEN/TR 15615 (Explanation of the general relationship between various European standards and the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) - Umbrella Document) and standard ISO EN 13790 (Energy performance of buildings – Calculation of energy use for space heating and cooling) conditions, and includes references to the 15 other standards.
