CEMBUREAU, the European Cement Association based in Brussels, is the representative organisation of the cement industry in Europe. The Association acts as spokesperson for the cement industry before the European Union institutions and other public authorities, and communicates the industry’s views on all issues and policy developments with regard to technical, environmental, energy and promotional issues. Permanent dialogue is maintained with EU institutions, international authorities and other international associations.

“Working together is of great importance in climate work, and this project further strengthens our common commitment to go beyond the EU goals in reducing CO2 emissions,” says Mr Sten Nordin, Mayor of Stockholm. To engage with the general public on the subject of energy efficiency, the COMBAT project arranges so called energy days and other activities for citizens and stakeholders. “Establishing a dialogue with the citizens and companies is crucial if we are to achieve the targets set for energy efficiency,” states Mr Pekka Sauri, Deputy Mayor of Helsinki.

The research work was conducted by Passiefhuis-platform vzw, the Belgian Building Research Institute and UCL Architecture & Climat, and was financed by Belgian Science Policy.
