The objective of this demonstration project is to design, integrate and pilot an innovative solution for social housing, using mature and interactive ICT, to enable sustained reductions of energy and water consumption of at least 15% below the current practice, without compromising living conditions, across 300 social dwellings in 10 European countries, with latitudes ranging from 56oN to 38oN.  For more information on the project please click here.

There will be a supplementary energy training course offered to craftsmen (Carpenters, Joiners, Bricklayers, Plumbers and Electricians) in the following six countries;  Denmark, France, Germany, Ireland, Spain and the Uk. This course was developed in the Trainenergy project and the training material will include a national as well as international focus. You will receive a certificate upon completion of the course. Situated about 30 minutes from Barcelona, the city of Santa Eulalia de Ronçana worked with a team of architects to design and build a nursery school reliant on renewable energy technologies. The core focus of Ecoarquitectura Gabi Barbeta (the network of architects devoted to the project) was "Sustainable Architecture and Consciousness Evolution." Their aim was to improve growth and foster children's health through inspirational architecture. To minimise the environmental impact of the building, the team gave priority to locally-sourced and natural materials.

The first phase of the Center for Aircraft Maintenance "Cessna Aircraft" which will be built at the airport of Manises (Valencia), received three "leaves" of the six ¨leaves¨ that the certificate awards for the level that is recognized by the environmental merit of a project. In a press release, the world organization in Spain which is called the Consejo para la Edificación Sostenible (Green Building Council españa) explains that the main function of this certification is to quantify the environmental impact that has been avoided in a construction.

La primera fase del Centro de Mantenimiento de Aviones de "Cessna Aircraft", que se construirá en el aeropuerto de Manises (Valencia), recibió tres "hojas" de las seis que otorga la certificación, por los niveles que reconocen el "mérito medioambiental" de un proyecto. En un comunicado de prensa, la organización mundial, que en España se denomina Consejo para la Edificación Sostenible, aclara que la función principal de esta certificación es la de cuantificar los impactos medioambientales que se han evitado en una construcción.

Madrid, 07.01.2011 - The European Investment Bank (EIB) and the Spanish Instituto para la Diversificación y Ahorro de la Energía (IDAE) have reached a financial agreement to launch the Portfolio Fund JESSICA as a financial instrument focusing on energy efficiency and renewable energy projects .  This is a novel idea in the use of structural funds from the European Union.

Madrid, 1.07.2011 - El Banco Europeo de Inversiones (BEI) y el Instituto para la Diversificación y Ahorro de la Energía (IDAE) han concluido un Acuerdo de Financiación para poner en marcha un Fondo de Cartera JESSICA como instrumento financiero enfocado a proyectos de eficiencia energética y uso de energías renovables lo que supone una fórmula novedosa en la utilización de fondos estructurales de la Unión Europea.
