This new residential complex in Tirol, completed in 2018, is a passive house construction with 20 condominiums, 19 underground parking spaces and 8 carport spaces. The structure is U-shaped and is divided, due to the slope, in a basement with underground parking, a ground floor and 4 other above-ground floors.   The outstandingly low levels of energy demand and consequential CO2 emissions have made it achieve the Bronze status of the Austrian klimaaktiv criteria.

Unique view and idyllic location, this project in the heart of Vienna consists of 117 privately financed condos. Its planned completion is foreseen for 2019.   The building presents a promising living space in a prime location - right next to the Otto-Benesch-Park and the recreational area near the Wienerberg pond.

A more than 12,000 m² glass envelope covers all of the buildings in this further training academy. PV systems were integrated into the roof surfaces and the south-west surfaces of the glass envelope on the sides. The almost 3200 PV modules have a varying solar cell packing density.

This report, by the ABRACADABRA H2020 project, presents the attractiveness of a new renovation strategy based on volumetric Add-ons and Renewable Energy Sources (AdoRES) intended as one (or a set of) Assistant Building unit(s) - like aside or façade additions, rooftop extensions or even an entire new building construction - that “adopt” the existing buildings (the Assisted Buildings) to achieve nearly zero energy standards.
