The CRAVEzero pinboard is a structured framework organizing all needed information and tools to build reliable low life cycle cost nZEBs. It comprises all major results and outcomes. It thereby is an interactive support web tool for most of the involved stakeholders (developer, design team, advisors, general contractor, suppliers/sub-contractors, investor and financer). The pinboard enables the organization of data and information in a user-friendly and understandable way.

PROtect traditional built HERITAGE Skills – PRO-Heritage According to the climate change and energy policy of the EU, each member state needed to identify and develop a series of energy efficient goals and regulations, of which buildings are a key element, in order to reach the set goals. However, Europe has numerous historic buildings, which need permanent maintenance and refurbishment in order to fulfil the requirements of sustainability and use.

Historical buildings play an important role for their cultural value and social identity within the vast real estate heritage. Only by carefully planning the energy refurbishment of these buildings is it possible to improve users’ comfort while preserving the architectural features for which they are protected.

The project REScoop Plus has enabled a better understanding of how consumers change their energy consumption behaviour when they join a renewable energy cooperative, a so-called REScoop. A new online toolbox features coaching tools for individuals to reduce their personal consumption and district heating tools to provide collective heat efficiently. The toolbox is free to use for all interested renewable energy cooperatives.

Achieving climate neutrality by 2050 requires decarbonising the whole economy, including the energy-hungry heating sector, says Finland’s Riku Huttunen. And that will involve cooperation at all levels of government, including local and EU authorities, he argues. Heating represents almost half (40%) of the EU’s total energy consumption. As such, it is also responsible for a large share of greenhouse gas emissions. Yet, politicians seem reluctant to confront the issue head-on.
