The office building ENERGYbase has been erected 2007 by the WWFF Business and Service Center GmbH. The building has 10,690 m² of gross floor area and hosts besides offices also laboratories and a university of applied sciences. Due to the exceptional shape of the facade and a wide range of other measures the heating demand of the building (3.87 kWh/m³y) is 72% below the Austrian Building code. The headquarter of the insurance company Allianz Elementar Versicherung AG in Vienna has been built between 1970 and 1979. The building has a gross floor area of about 37,600 m². Between 2004 and 2008 a broad range of measures has been taken to enhance the energy efficiency of the building. The Business Center Lower Austria has been built in 2007 and has a gross floor area of approximately 7000 m². The heating and cooling demand are 66.5 respectively 90% lower than the Lower Austrian Building code. The heating demand is 4.57 kWh/m³y and the cooling demand is 0.1 kWh/m³y. Local and regional capacity-building will be achieved through national online-help desks, frequent training events for local authorities, companies, and multipliers, as well as consultancy for applying and advancing EPC-standard procedures and instruments in concrete pilot projects. The promotional campaign will imply the integration of EPC issues in national trade fairs and the high-profile annual awarding events of the “European Energy Service Award”.
