The Commission has launched 2 public consultations today on the revision of the Renewable Energy Directive and the Energy Efficiency Directive.   The objective of these 12 week consultations is to seek a wide range of views on to what extent and how these 2 directives should be revised. This will feed into the preparation of Commission proposals next year.

As part of the European Green Deal, the Commission identified the importance of agreeing a new approach for exploiting Europe’s offshore renewable energy potential in a sustainable and inclusive way. The revised Commission Work Programme confirmed that a European offshore renewable energy strategy would be published before the end of 2020, aimed at giving a strategic direction for the ambitious development and integration of this type of energy by 2030 and 2050.

The Renovation Wave initiative is a priority under the European Green Deal and the Recovery play for the EU, aimed at increasing the rate and quality of renovation of existing buildings and thereby help decarbonise the building stock.

Die Energieberatung des Bundes für Wohneigentümer („Energieberatung für Wohngebäude“) und für mittelständische Unternehmen („Energieberatung Mittelstand“) wird ausgeweitet. Für Verbraucher steht künftig ein größerer Kreis an qualifizierten Energieberatern zur Verfügung. Das Bundeswirtschaftsministerium hat hierzu die Zulassungsvoraussetzungen für Energieberater so geändert, dass künftig qualifizierte Fachleute aus allen Branchen beraten können, sofern sie die hohen Qualifikationsanforderungen erfüllen. Die Beratung erfolgt nach den gleichen Qualitätsmaßstäben wie bisher, d. h.
