To reduce emissions by at least 55% in 2030 and build the foundations for a climate neutral Europe by 2050, the Renovation Wave aims to renovate 35 million inefficient buildings by 2030.   85-95% of buildings in the EU are expected to still be standing in 2050. Renovating them is essential to reducing emissions and energy use.

Within the eCentral project, which aims to enhance the energy efficiency of public buildings by supporting public authorities to define efficient renovation measures and financial instruments, a survey on these topics has been launced in order to understand the level of knowledge of these instruments from public administrations (e.g. owners) and from practitioners.

The building, designed by Ruben Muedra and developed by IDAI NATURE as their new headquarters, won the BUILD Sustainable Building "Excellence Award for Sustainable Architectural Design".   It has been completed in 2018 and it is located in the town of La Pobla de Vallbona in Valencia,where the main challenge was to meet the limiting cooling demands required for Passivhaus certification, in a warm climate and in a high internal gain building.

Concept:   Greening investments is a top priority for the EU, which requires financial advisers to consider the environmental objectives of their clients and beneficiaries.   However, energy efficiency (EE) and sustainable energy (SE) investments face a finance gap. The EU-funded LEVEL EEI project will make these EE and SE products more competitive. It will conduct behavioural science field experiments to assess end users’ demands for environmental products.
