In order to achieve the European Commission’s long-term energy vision for 2050, yearly energy investments in the EU need to almost double and of these, energy efficiency improvements in residential buildings represent more than half. Deep retrofits will thus be critical, but, as they can be expensive, new and innovative ways of financing are vital.

CitizEE is a new Coordiantion and Support Action at European level, funded under the Horizon 2020 programme. The project has been launched in May 2019, with a kick-off meeting held by WIP Renewable Energies in its facilities in Munich (Germany), on May 7th-8th.
The meeting gathered the 8 partners forming the consortium and served as starting point for the CitizEE project

The STUNNING team will present their main results of its two-year project: Studies on cost-benefit benchmarking of refurbishment packages, a comprehensive analysis of current barriers to the wide adoption of refurbishment measures, promising business models for building refurbishment and the online knowledge exchange platform "Renovation Hub".

As an important part of their ambitious Energy Efficient Scotland Programme, The Scottish Government joined the Advisory Council of the Energy Efficient Mortgages Pilot Scheme in September 2018 and has been supporting the Energy Efficient Mortgages Initiative ever since as a concrete way to achieve the common goal of a more energy efficient future for all.
