This report is the first output of the GlobalABC “adaptation” working group, launched at COP24 in Katowice.
During the Global- ABC meeting in Rabat in October 2018, the representatives of the Kingdom of Morocco and GlobalABC members expressed their mutual wish to see the challenges of climate change adaptation and the benefits of initiatives in the real-estate, building, and construction sector be put in the spotlight, as up until now they have not been given due attention.

The SmartBuilt4EU project launches its first workshop to identify barriers, challenges and opportunities to support the take up of smart buildings in Europe.
This session will introduce the four task forces that will each address a specific theme (see below) and will kick off their respective activity.

European Member States have different legislation in place and systems to run Energy performance certificate (EPC) schemes. X-tendo proposes conceptual approaches for features combining new ideas with existing methods to work towards developing innovative indicators that could be tested and integrated into the EPC schemes of the implementing countries.

Last year the main focus was on improving the energy performance of buildings. Reducing the use of fossil fuels and the direct and indirect CO₂ emission of buildings caused by heating, cooling and ventilating and at the same time improving or safeguarding the indoor environmental quality.
