The report "Next Generation of EPCs and Quality Convergence across the EU: Implementation of Innovative Certification Schemes" aims to tackle current EPC challenges by proposing new features for implementation within existing schemes.   The document first summarises the state-of-the-art regarding European and international certification schemes.

On 25 January 2021, the QualDeEPC project held its EU-level expert workshop: Next-generation Energy Performance Certificates and Deep Renovation to discuss with important EU stakeholders the proposals developed in the Green paper on good practice in EPC assessment, certification, and use.

A new set of Key Performance Indicators (KPI) is available online from the Regional Cadastre of Energy Performance Certificates (CEER), managed by ARIA S.p.A. (Azienda Regionale per l'Innovazione e gli Acquisti) on behalf of Lombardy Region.

ePANACEA’s methodology aims to contribute to the harmonisation of energy performance assessment and certification of buildings across the European Union, enhancing market trust and user friendliness in terms of clarity and accuracy of the information provided. ePANACEA’s methodology will be demonstrated and validated in five European pilot countries through 15 real case studies.

ePANACEA user-needs workshops will take place from mid December 2020 to mid January 2021, and end users of EPC as well as other stakeholders are invited to take part.   The workshops, each with in total 15 participants, will have a duration of approx. 2 hours and will be conducted by project partners in the ePANACEA pilot countries Spain, Belgium, Finland, Austria, and Greece, as well as in Germany.

ePANACEA has successfully launched Regional Exploitation Board activities. The five Regional Exploitation Boards (REBs) aim to cover all EU27+UK+Norway, consisting of important European stakeholders related to national EPC activities.   During the last weeks, the ePANACEA REB leaders consolidated their boards and organised their first virtual meetings as follows:

The QualDeEPC project aims to improve the practical implementation of the assessment, issuance, design, and use of Energy Performance Certification's as well as their renovation recommendations, in Germany, Greece, Bulgaria, Latvia, Hungary, Spain, Sweden and beyond.

The EPBD and its revisions in 2010 and 2018 strengthened the provisions related to Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) by setting out that the Member States have to provide information to owners and tenants on the purpose and objectives of EPCs, energy efficiency measures and supporting financial instruments through accessible and transparent advisory tools.
