Currently 29 islands and the two Regions of the Aegean Sea are members of the network (DAFNI-Non Profit Organisation) aiming towards:
- A balance of economic growth with environmental standards and social concerns
- Regional development through qualitative tourism, social participation and innovativestructures (including e-governance)
- New energy and water management schemes (including renewables and desalination)
DAFNI, the Network of Sustainable Greek Islands and the Aegean Energy Agency are the Supporting Structures for the Aegean authorities, assisting them to fulfill their commitments.
29 insular municipalities and the regions of the Aegean Sea are members of the network: Aegina, Alonissos, Amorgos, Andros, Chios, Ios, Kea, Kimolos, Kos, Kythnos, Lipsi, Lesbos, Limnos, Mykonos, Milos, Naxos and small cyclades, Nissyros, Paros, Patmos, Region of south aegean islands, Region of north aegean islands, Rhodes, Samothraki, Skyros, Syros, Sifnos, Skopelos, Thira, Tilos, Folegandros, Ydra.
