The CoNZEBs project formed the main part of a session at the IAQVEC conference in Bari in September 2019. CoNZEBs project partner held in total 6 presentations including a project overview, different project results and one of the national exemplary NZEB buildings presented in the end-user brochure. The papers are published as open source documents in IOP Conference Series: Materials Science and Engineering, Volume 609.

The main goal of the EU Horizon 2020 project CoNZEBs was to identify technology combinations for multi-family houses that fulfil the Nearly Zero-Energy Building (NZEB) requirements but result in lower investment costs if compared to the typical (mainstream) NZEB technology combinations.

This guideline, released by the “School of the Future” project, focusses on building construction elements. The publication deals with the building envelope covering an overview of insulation materials, examples of roof and facade insulation, windows and shading elements.

This report is the result of the work performed in this field under the Concerted Action EPBD in 2011-2012 and summarises the main outcomes of the discussions on cost-optimality, including statistics from national plans.   The Concerted Action EPBD theme “Energy Performance requirements using the Cost-Optimal methodology” focusses on EPBD recast articles 3-8, as well as to Annexes I and III regarding primarily the cost-optimal procedure.

The CA conducted a study on experiences and challenges for setting cost optimal levels for energy performance requirements. The results were used as input by the EU Commission in their work of establishing the Regulation on a comparative methodology framework for calculating cost optimal levels of minimum energy performance requirements.
