The DiGeSPo CSP m-CHP unit will provide electrical power, heating and cooling for single and multiple domestic dwellings and other small commercial, industrial and public buildings. It integrates small scale concentrator optics with moving and tracking components, solar absorbers in the form of evacuated tube collectors, a heat transfer fluid, a Stirling engine with generator, and heating and/or cooling systems.

The announcement was made at a meeting in London of around 200 public sector organisations that have worked with the Carbon Trust to reduce their energy bills and carbon footprints. It was also announced that energy efficiency projects already implemented by the public sector with the help of the Carbon Trust are on track to deliver net cost savings of over £400 million along with a reduction in CO2 emissions of 10 million tonnes over the lifetime of projects.

The Keep Cool II project, approved under the programme Intelligent Energy for Europe (IEE) and that ended on 31 May 2010, had the following objectives:• Consolidating the market chain of sustainable summer comfort solutions;• Creating incentives for designers and planners towards integrated planning;• Introducing resp. strengthening sustainable summer comfort into national Energy Efficiency Action Plans, guidelines for public procurement and national building regulation;
