Το ευρωπαϊκό έργο PUBLENEF έχει ως βασικό στόχο την  υποστήριξη των δημόσιων αρχών για την αποτελεσματική εφαρμογή των πολιτικών βιώσιμης ενέργειας, σε διαφορετικά διοικητικά επίπεδα, με βάση τις βέλτιστες πρακτικές άλλων κρατών μελών. Ο στόχος αυτός θα επιτευχθεί με τη μεταφορά τεχνογνωσίας από υπάρχουσες πρακτικές σε χώρες, περιφέρειες και πόλεις της ΕΕ.

On June 28, 2016, the World Green Building Council (WorldGBC) launched a new project aiming to ensure that all buildings are “net zero” by 2050.   The project involves eight green building councils from Australia, Brazil, Canada, German, India, the Netherlands, South Africa and Sweden initially, and Architecture 2030 as lead partner to provide technical expertise.

This resulted in an unique design process and an extraordinary (visionary) building that combines a comfortable working environment with sustainable innovations.

How to increase the transformation of the building stock while at the same time maintaining affordability for the residents? This key question is what Housing Europe members have been trying to answer over the past years in their daily activities. Part of the answer is now provided by the Transition Zero Project whose kick off meeting took place in Groningen on 21st April.

Carrying out this work package was rather challenging, beginning with grasping the original idea behind it. The idea here is not only to write a solid city action plan for the city of Rotterdam but in parallel to find out and understand the logics for building up such a city action plan using the Guidelines provided by the city of Stockholm. The final aim should be to support other cities in their process of (re)thinking of and planning energy efficiency measures for their cities.

Certifications for sustainable construction materials and buildings are amply available. But to what extent is the market ready to invest in them?     The European construction industry and home-builder citizens are increasingly aware of sustainable choices. Some solutions can be more expensive than others, although sometimes this only concerns the construction phase. It’s not so much about whether people want to pay ‘a price supplement’ for sustainability, but rather about when the economy takes over from awareness again.
