Una decarbonizzazione dell'energia in Europa il sistema senza la decarbonizzazione del settore del riscaldamento è impossibile. Tuttavia, gli sforzi attualmente in corso sono troppo lenti. Trasformando il settore del riscaldamento -dalla ricerca e sviluppo alla produzione, l'installazione e la manutenzione richiede un gigantesco sforzo da parte di tutti gli stakeholder. A causa della distorta prezzi dell'energia, le condizioni di mercato non sono adatti per innescare il cambiamento necessario.

A decarbonisation of Europe’s energy system without a decarbonisation of the heating sector is impossible. Yet, efforts currently under way are too slow. Transforming the heating industry -from research and development to manufacturing, installation and maintenance- requires a gigantic effort by all stakeholders. Due to the distorted prices for energy, current market conditions are not suitable to trigger the necessary change.

L' DecarbHeat initiative mira a riunire i principali attori del sistema di riscaldamento e raffreddamento, l'industria e le altre principali parti interessate. Insieme sono in grado di realizzare la visione di un 100% decarbonatati Europea sistema di riscaldamento e raffreddamento di una realtà. L'iniziativa consiste in una DecarbHeat Industria Pegno and DecarbHeat Dichiarazione di Sostegno. Both sarà formalmente aperta alla firma presso l' #DecarbHeat 2017 Forum a Bruxelles l ' 11-12 Maggio 2017.

The study "Identifying Levers to Unlock Clean Industry" aims to feed the new Energy Union Integrated Strategy on Research, Innovation and Competitiveness. To reach the overriding goal of creating growth and jobs, the competitiveness of the EU28’s manufacturing industry has to be improved. This is in part possible via a stronger diversification of traditional industries in the production of clean solutions (partly due to their own high energy demand), thereby increasing growth and export potential.

This Joint Research Centre (JRC) Science and policy report presents the modelling work quoted in the EC communication " The Paris Protocol - a blueprint for tackling global climate change beyond 2020" - in the EU's Energy Union package. It examines the effects of a Baseline scenario where current trends continue beyond 2020, and of a Global Mitigation scenario in line with keeping global warming below 2ºC. Industrial waste heat recovery is a key factor for energy savings. In most industrial processes that need heat, the thermal energy produced is not used in full and part of it is rejected as "waste heat". The waste heat recovery can be used internally to cover the heating needs of the process or of the industrial building. It can also be used to meet the heating requirements of other companies or buildings in the surroundings, using a district heating network. The recovered heat can also be converted into electricity, for internal or external use.
