IEA- EBC Annex 57: Evaluation of Embodied Energy and CO2 Equivalent Emissions for Building Construction
The Executive Committee of the International Energy Agency Energy in Buildings and Communities programme (IEA EBC) approved the “IEA-EBC Annex 57: Evaluation of embodied energy and carbon dioxide equivalent emissions for building construction” in 2011. The project was completed in 2016.

People spend up to 90% of their lives indoors, so it is perhaps not surprising that the quality of the environment created has a significant impact on their health and well-being. What is perhaps even more surprising is that the indoor air quality of some buildings, including modern low energy buildings, has been shown to be poorer than urban outdoor air quality.

Construction21, which was created in 2012 to accelerate the environmental transformation of the building sector, confirms its world ambitions on all topics related to sustainable construction and cities. On November 14th, at the COP22 in Marrakesh, a partnership agreement was signed with CABR during the Green Building & City Solutions Awards ceremony, with the intention to create the Construction21 China platform.
Construction21 will, therefore, launch a Chinese platform in February 2017.
