With the ending of EUSEW came along a number of benefits. Exchange of experience, reconciliation of opinions of the different stakeholders, announcement of innovations and other news, discussions on how to improve the attained results and to accelerate the achievement of the targets EU2030 – EU2050.
There are many accomplishments in various directions, especially in the sphere of EE products innovations.

Much of our building stock was designed and built before global warming, environmental protection and recycling became foremost in our minds and behaviours. It represents around 40% of energy consumption and 36% of CO2 emissions
Revamping building envelopes, making façades and roofs more energy-efficient, is a key measure in retrofitting existing stock. Combined with a smart energy management system, building envelopes can slash energy consumption while improving indoor comfort.

Climate change is driving Europe to transform its energy sector. As we transition from a fossil-based to a zero-carbon economy in the next few decades, we will use more renewable energy, and the electricity we generate won’t come from a central plant. Instead, it will come from multiple, decentralised renewable energy sources that are near to load demands. But is the existing networking capable of hosting this increase in capacity? Less than 2% of properties sold in Ireland between January 2017 and October 2018 were A rated – the highest energy efficient rating for homes – despite many technologies available to upgrade homes. And just 11% of dishwashers and 14% of fridges sold in 2018 in Spain were of the highest A+++ energy rating for appliances. The findings come from a project called CONSEED, which investigates what encourages people to buy energy efficient appliances, houses and cars.

President Salomé Zourabichvili of Georgia has joined a high-level global commission that is studying how to quickly speed up energy efficiency progress through new and stronger policy action. The new panel is composed of senior government figures, top business executives and energy sector thought leaders from around the world. It will produce a concise list of clear, actionable recommendations next year for policy actions that can be taken by countries across the globe to rapidly accelerate progress on energy efficiency.

In 21 case studies, the EUKI project BEACON evaluated national climate policies in European countries. The Slovak Sustainable Energy Financing Facility (SlovSEFF) was one of the first credit lines by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) to encourage energy efficiency and renewable energy projects with private industrial companies and housing associations. With the support of local banks and obligatory technical assistance it channels financing to sustainable energy projects reducing GHG emissions.

The information system of the IMPULSE project is an online tool developed in the framework of the Interreg MED Programme 2014-2020. IMPULSE introduces an integrated management support system for planning energy efficiency interventions in public buildings.

This new residential complex in Tirol, completed in 2018, is a passive house construction with 20 condominiums, 19 underground parking spaces and 8 carport spaces. The structure is U-shaped and is divided, due to the slope, in a basement with underground parking, a ground floor and 4 other above-ground floors.
The outstandingly low levels of energy demand and consequential CO2 emissions have made it achieve the Bronze status of the Austrian klimaaktiv criteria.

The Energy Efficiency Standard for Social Housing (EESSH) aims to encourage landlords to improve the energy efficiency of social housing in Scotland.
This supports the Scottish Government's vision of warm, high quality, affordable, low carbon homes and a housing sector that helps to establish a successful low carbon economy across Scotland.

The general objective of EduFootprint Project is to better manage, plan and monitor the energy consumption in public buildings in the Mediterranean area.
Specifically, EduFootprint aims to reach this aim working focused in public school buildings with an innovative Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) approach, considering not just direct energy impacts of buildings (consumption), but also indirect ones (public procurement or general human awareness and behaviour).
