Building renovation is often considered a burden usually associated with time-consuming planning, uncertainty about the costs and value of the planned measures, dust and unreliable professionals.   The iBRoad project focuses on an evolution of existing energy audit products and Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) in order to become a real driver for deep renovations.

The iBRoad individual Building Renovation Roadmap and Logbook were field-tested in Bulgaria, Poland and Portugal from March to May 2019. In parallel, the iBRoad Logbook was also field-tested in Germany. During the field test, 15 – 20 buildings per pilot country were examined in cooperation with certified local energy auditors. The local energy agencies, KAPE, EnEffect and ADENE, managed the field tests in their respective countries and strongly supported the implementation.

Report on suggested elements, content and layout of the iBRoad tools.   The Report “The iBRoad Concept in practice” aims to elaborate on the concept and benefits of the Individual Building Renovation Roadmap, giving an overview of the potential services to be provided by the relevant software itself, as well as of the potential links with other tools or services available on the market, and present the ones that are to be actually implemented and tested under the iBRoad project.

The engagement of stakeholders during the development process of the iBRoad project is considered of high value since the beginning. Following the stakeholders’ mapping procedure, a process that included the identification, the analysis, the visualisation and the prioritisation steps for each stakeholder, namely the levels of expertise, influence, involvement necessity and interest to the project, the first round of physical meetings took place during February and March 2018 in 8 countries.

The Report "Understanding user needs" is an analytic report based on a survey of 1500+ participants from Bulgaria, Poland and Portugal.   The iBRoad project aims to eliminate barriers to deep renovation by developing an Individual Building Renovation Roadmap for single-family houses. The tool provides a customised renovation plan over a long-term period (10-20 years), which considers the occupants’ needs and specific situations.
