The Federal Office of Economics and Export Control (BAFA) offers investment grants for the installation of renewable energy heating systems.
Applications may be submitted by private individuals, independent professionals, non-profit organisations, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) as well as municipalities and local municipal authorities.

KfW Energieeffizient Sanieren – Ergänzungskredit
The KfW promotional programme “KfW Energy Efficient Renovation - Supplementary Credit” provides low interest loans for the replacement of the heating and domestic hot water systems of a residence, as long as the old systems were installed before 2009.
The loan provided can be up to EUR 50,000 and have a 10 year repayment period at a fixed interest rate.

The Norwegian National Energy Agency Enova has a programme that supports investments in renewable energy supply for dwellings.
The scheme supports solar heating systems, pellet stoves and pellet burners for central heating, heat pump systems for central heating and a thermal control system for efficient use of energy.

The tax deduction mechanism is a voluntary mechanism which offers the possibility of deducting from income tax (i.e. 55%) of the costs incurred for the energy efficiency upgrading of existing buildings. The deductions must be spread over 10 years.
The deduction is permitted for resident and non-resident taxpayers, even if corporate revenue holders, who are in possession, for any reason, of the building subject of intervention. In particular:

A heat pump is used to transport heat from a low temperature source to a higher temperature use (heat sink) by means of a transfer fluid (or refrigerant) in a thermodynamic cycle.
