ASHRAE Building Energy Labeling Program implementation report - June 2009

Share this Post:
This report gives an update of the implementation of an Advanced Building Energy Labeling (ABEL) program by the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) to drive existing and new buildings towards the Net-Zero Energy Buildings (NZEB) target. The rating will be named the Building Energy Quotient, or Building EQ (bEQ). The rating scale for the ABEL program should closely match existing work going on outside North America, particularly in Europe. The report outlines the steps necessary to deliver the Building EQ and makes further recommendations on delivery of the bEQ.
