Standardization is an important tool for the implementation of the EU energy efficiency and climate policy as standards provide the common methods and practices to assess and improve energy performance. The seminar is intended to provide an overview of the standardization activities of CEN (European Committee for Standardization) and CENELEC (European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardization) on energy management and energy efficiency and to offer stakeholders a time of exchange and debate on these topics.
The seminar will be organised in two sessions:
- The morning session will focus on recently adopted standards and the present standardization work programme of CEN and CENELEC, including energy management systems, terminology, energy audits, energy efficiency benchmarking methodologies, energy efficiency services, energy efficiency and saving calculations, guarantees of origin, energy consumption in the transport sector, EPBD standards etc.
- The afternoon session will concentrate on practical experiences in the implementation of standards on energy performance of buildings, national experiences on energy audits and present views from companies that have implemented an energy management standard.
Maximum 90 participants.
