In close interaction with various stakeholders, the study team has developed a provisional Smart Readiness Indicator assessment method and calculation scheme. We kindly invite all interested stakeholders to engage in the public bèta testing of this approach.

A greater uptake of smart technologies is expected to lead to significant, cost-effective energy savings, while also helping to improve indoor comfort in a manner that enables the building to adjust to the needs of the user.   Smart buildings have also been identified and acknowledged as key enablers of future energy systems for which there will be a larger share of renewables, distributed supply and demand-side energy flexibility.

The  H2020 project ExcEED (European Energy Efficient building district Database) is funded by the European Commission and aims at collecting data coming from new, modern and energy efficient buildings (such as energy performance, CO2 emissions, etc.). The project answers the need for transparency and comparability of energy performance calculations.

Being heavily involved in passive constructions, we wanted to create a thoughtful and sustainable building. We equipped our control house with a complete EnOcean wireless home automation system. This innovative technology works without any battery or wiring. The energy recovered during the manipulation is enough to emit a radio signal, which makes it possible, for example, to turn on the light.
