This report is part of Task 5 within the California Energy Commission (CEC) EPIC project (EPIC-14- 009) Optimizing Radiant Systems for Energy Efficiency and Comfort managed through the Centre for the Built Environment at UC Berkeley. The main goal of this research was to determine the building characteristics of projects with radiant heating and cooling and assess their real world energy use compared to standard benchmarks for building energy performance.

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Indian Energy Policy and Programs has selected 13 tribal energy projects to receive funding of $7.8 million. The projects will install energy systems on tribal buildings and on community scale for beneficiary tribes and Alaska Native villages that provided matching funds. About 6.3 MW of PV will be installed on more than 3,000 buildings and save the benefitted communities more than $2 million per year.
