We generate new knowledge through independent research. This is used to create the products, standards and qualifications that help to ensure buildings, homes and communities are safe, efficient, productive, sustainable and enjoyable places to be.

As part of the dissemination tasks of 4RinEU, training and skills development is a substantial component. Particularly, such tasks are devoted to developing the necessary skills for a new generation of practitioners in the energy retrofit of buildings.
Accordingly, last Spring, researchers from Eurac held a two-day training session on the software Early-RENo last 16-17 May 2019.

The general objective of EduFootprint Project is to better manage, plan and monitor the energy consumption in public buildings in the Mediterranean area.
Specifically, EduFootprint aims to reach this aim working focused in public school buildings with an innovative Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) approach, considering not just direct energy impacts of buildings (consumption), but also indirect ones (public procurement or general human awareness and behaviour).

RESTORE is an knowledge transfer project that is composed by 40 countries and 150 working members. The project is divided into 5 workgroups and it is coordinated by the Core Group and the Members' Committee representing each of the participant countries.

Buildings are responsible for approximately 40 % of energy consumption and 36 % of CO2 emissions in the EU, according to the European Commission. It’s also widely accepted that to reduce the amount of energy used, consumers have to change their behaviour.
But old habits die hard, especially when it comes to making sacrifices for the environment.

EUREM is a standardised European EnergyManager training program comprising courses, self-learning and practical work, combined with access to a European alumni network for continued knowledge exchange.

One of the objectives of BIMplement’s project is to create a new generation of professionals and craftsmen, qualified to deliver high quality nZEB-projects by using technical, cross-trade and BIM skills and competences.
To this end, training sessions will be carried out in 50 construction sites located in France, Spain, the Netherlands, Poland and Lithuania.
