New eceee explanatory note illustrates why EPBD must focus on energy needs

eceee press release, 30 November 2017: The European council for an energy efficient economy (eceee) believes that energy efficiency first means that energy needs should be reduced as far as possible in order to avoid wasting energy from any source, including precious renewables. eceee now publishes an updated technical note on the EPBD Annex I, where these issues are defined.

Energy efficient mortgages could play a central role in Europe’s new strategy for sustainable finance, states a White Paper published on 26 October 2017 under the EU funded ‘Energy Efficient Mortgages Action Plan’ (EeMAP) Initiative - which sets out key recommendations towards the creation of an energy efficient mortgage product for Europe.

 

EuroACE and eceee applaud European Parliament’s committee vote on buildings efficiency

European NGOs and efficiency stakeholders applaud the 11 October 2017 vote of the Industry, Transport and Research (ITRE) Committee of the European Parliament in favour of stronger European building regulations. The final report adopted significantly improves the Commission’s proposal and counterbalances the weak General Approach of the Energy Council, according to the NGOs.
