The modular project TEESCHOOLS is the last project within the Efficient Buildings Community to come to an end.  TEESCHOOLS has covered a long distance on the path for the decarbonisation of public building stock.  A new publication now collects and presents all the most important outcomes of this journey.

 

TEESCHOOL focused on energy efficiency of school buildings, because they are an ideal target to teach and train at the same time students, families and private users and to trigger effective behavioural changes. The final publication of the project showcase four main outcomes.

 

The project developed a user-friendly tool to perform simplified energy diagnosis of school buildings. The tool can be used by local authorities, energy managers but also non-expert users to assess the energy performance of the building and choose the improvement actions with the best cost/benefit ratio. The tool is adapted to Mediterranean climate zones and it also allows to calculate the carbon footprint of the renovated building.

 

In order to guide school buildings’ owners, TEESCHOOLS provides support through the e-learning course. It is freely accessible online and, in 52 hours, users can learn how to improve the energy management of schools and how to use of the user-friendly tool.

 

The third main outcome of TEESCHOOLS is a database of Best Available Technics (BAT). It includes at least five BAT for low impact buildings from all seven partner countries Italy, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Croatia, Cyprus, France, Greece and Spain.

 

Finally, the publication introduce the document of policy recommendations that collects and synthetizes the main problems, barriers and some best practices for the full exploitation of energy efficiency potential of public building in each partner country.
