The main aim of REScoop 20-20-20, a new IEE-supported initiative (launched in April, 2012) according to Dirk Vansintjan, the project’s coordinator, ‘... is to bring to the surface all the renewable energy cooperatives around Europe; all the pioneers responsible for these initiatives, all their expertise, and all their experiences—both good and bad.’

BEEP database is a global one stop shop for building energy codes, labelling and incentive schemes implemented in the 28 IEA member countries, BRICS countries and Tunisia for a total of 34 countries. BEEP currently provides detailed information on more than 400 building energy codes, 200 labelling schemes and 200 incentive schemes.

The jury for the 2012 Energy Efficiency Innovator Awards has selected the International Energy Agency’s Building Energy Efficiency Policies (BEEP) database as the winner in its “Projects” category. The prize will be bestowed to Dr Yamina SAHEB at the Energy Efficiency Innovator Awards Ceremony in Monaco on November 9th, 2012 .

The report’s major findings for 2011 include:
• 29.7 GW of PV systems were connected to the grid in 2011, up from 16.8 GW in 2010; in terms of installed systems the estimated numbers are a minimum of 24.7 GW in 2011, up from a maximum of 21.8 GW in 2010
• With approximately 70 GW cumulative global installations, PV is now, after hydro and wind power, the third most important renewable energy source in terms of globally installed capacity

Veinte equipos procedentes de 15 países (Alemania, Dinamarca, España, Francia, Holanda, Hungría, Italia, Noruega, Portugal, Reino Unido, Rumanía, China, Japón, Brasil y Egipto), construirán su vivienda a tamaño real en un recinto abierto al público denominado “Villa Solar”.Durante la competición, las viviendas participantes deberán someterse a 10 pruebas que determinarán cuál es la ganadora: la casa que consuma la menor cantidad de recursos naturales, y produzca un mínimo de residuos durante su ciclo de vida, obteniendo toda la energía necesaria a partir del sol.

The objective of the participating teams is to design and build houses that consume as few natural resources as possible and produce minimum waste products during their life cycle. Particular emphasis is put on reducing energy consumption and on obtaining all the necessary energy from the sun.Twenty teams from 15 countries (Germany, Denmark, Spain, France, Holland, Hungary, Italy, Norway, Portugal, United Kingdom, Romania, China, Japan, Brazil and Egypt) are building houses on the site called ¨Villa Solar¨ on the public premises of Casa del Campo, Madrid.
