Founded on the 11 principles of Article 46 - Training of Architects of the European Directive 2005/36/EC, this paper takes a propositive approach in reviewing current national and international legislation, and initiatives promoted by professional and regulatory bodies, with the aim of defining strategies and priorities to advocate consistency in the requirements for qualification at a European and global level and move closer to the goal of embracing environmental sustainability within the design of the built environment.

On the evening, the Ceremony and Walking dinner at the Palais des Beaux Arts were opened by Selma Harrington, President of the ACE and addressed by a number of international speakers, including Rosen Plevneliev, Minister of Regional Development and Public Works in Bulgaria; Louise Cox, President of the International Union of Architects; Andrey Bokov, President of the Union of Architects of Russia, and Tom Vonier on behalf of Georg Miller, President of the Architects Institute of America. The projects are classified in eight different themes that emphasise their quality and features.
