In this edition we present the highlights of the 2019 joint AIVC – TightVent – venticool conference “From Energy crisis to sustainable indoor climate – 40 years of AIVC" held on 15 & 16 October 2019 in Ghent, Belgium i.e. a summary of the airtightness track of the event and news from the TAAC meeting held right after the conference.

What are the World Sustainable Energy Days (WSED)?
The clean energy transition is taking on a new dynamic in Europe and worldwide. "Energy efficiency first" and "global leadership in renewables" are at the centre of this transformation process. This requires strong policies, competitive businesses, technology innovation, investments and the involvement of the citizens. By addressing these topics and more, the annual World Sustainable Energy Days attract over 660 participants from over 50 countries each year.

Over the years, the CA EPBD has been collecting a wealth of information useful to EPBD national policy experts and other stakeholders. The most recent key public outputs of the CA EPBD are now gathered in the present database of publications, which will be regularly updated to reflect further developments.

To support the professional execution of nearly zero-energy buildings new pilot “Train the Trainer” courses were implemented in Austria, Hungary, the Netherlands and Slovakia for flat roofer, ventilation installer and building inspection.

The mission of EuroWindoor (EW) is to represent the interest of the European window, door and facade manufacturers through close dialogue with EU and other relevant institutions. Thereby contributing to the EU’s commitment regarding better regulation as well as job creation, energy security, resource efficiency and carbon emission reductions without imposing unnecessary burdens on the sector.
