The INSTITUTE FOR EUROPEAN ENERGY AND CLIMATE POLICY (IEECP) is a non-for-profit research organisation that brings together some of Europe’s leading interdisciplinary experts on climate change, energy efficiency and renewable energy policy.   Our members are well renowned experts in the fields of climate change, energy efficiency, and renewable energy policy. IEECP carries out detailed studies and top quality research projects in these policy fields.

The global economy is set to double in size over the next 20 years. But that does not mean it will need twice as much energy to power all the extra cars, homes and factories such growth will bring. By taking the available opportunities to become more energy efficient, we would need only the same amount of energy we use today. The result would be a global economy with reduced emissions, lower pollution and enhanced energy security – we would live more comfortable lives and receive lower energy bills.

The renovation of the Mayrhof in Trins combines several best-practice solutions in one project. In particular, the use of a newly developed façade system and an extension using a house-in-house concept allow architectural and building physics aspects to harmonise with each other. During intervention the most important things always kept in mind were the external appearance and the woodwork in the stube. The very individual shape of the external walls made much work on details necessary. The external wall paintings refers to the buildings history.
