Healthy Buildings Barometer 2024: how the EU building stock is becoming sustainable and resilient

This report is the latest series of pan-European reports to track the state of the European building stock.
Editorial Team

The Healthy Buildings Barometer (HBB), has been tracking European Union homes since 2015. In this 2024 edition, it expands to cover all major building types, offering insights and a comprehensive framework for healthy buildings based on scientific research and case studies across the EU. It addresses the EU's lagging progress toward 2050 climate targets and introduces a framework to track and align initiatives for healthy buildings with decarbonisation goals.

The report emphasises three core messages for policymakers, urging collective action to redefine healthy buildings, prioritise occupants' health and sustainability, and promote accountability in the building industry.
