The information on this website is subject to a disclaimer, a copyright notice and a privacy statement, related to personal data protection.

 

This electronic service is a tool created by the European Commission which aims to share and promote existing knowledge, guidelines, tools and best practices for energy-saving measures in buildings across Europe. At the same time, it aims to inform and update the market about the legislative framework in terms of goals, practical implications and future revisions.

 

BUILD UP is a European Commission initiative funded under the Intelligent Energy Europe programme.

 

The electronic service is provided by everis under a service contract with the Executive Agency for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (EASME) on the behalf of the European Commission (contract number – EASME/H2020/2017/023.

Your personal data is processed in accordance with Regulation (EU) No 2018/1725 1 on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data by the Union institutions, bodies, offices and agencies and on the free movement of such data.

 

The data controller of the processing operation is the Head of Unit of B1 of the Executive Agency for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (EASME)2.

 

The following entities process your personal data on our behalf as contractor: Everis Spain S.L.U. succursale Belgique (Belgium.eCMU@everis.com), acting as prime contractor; European Academy of Bozen-Bolzano (info@eurac.edu), acting as subcontractor; Université Libre de Bruxelles (secretariat.batir@ulb.ac.be), acting as subcontractor; and European Service Network S.A., (bbr@esn.eu), acting as subcontractor.

 

The legal basis for the processing activities are: Article 5(1)(a) of Regulation EU 2018/1725 because processing is necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest3 and Article 5(1)(d) of Regulation EU 2018/1725 based on your explicit consent for your non- mandatory personal data indicated below.

 

The purpose(s) of this processing are to provide the electronic service for BUILD UP, create and maintain a database of users for the purpose of the newsletter, and create and maintain a public database of the users of the external service (directory).

 

The following of your personal data are collected: first name, surname, country and e-mail address are mandatory for the purpose(s) outline above. In addition, the following non-mandatory personal data are collected: title, function, organisation, professional e-mail address.

 

The recipients of your personal data will be EASME, CINEA and European Commission staff in charge of BUILD UP, staff of EASME contractors in charge of BUILD UP, the registered users of the electronic service, the public only for the directory, and bodies charged with monitoring or inspection tasks in application of EU law (e.g. internal audits, European Anti-fraud Office – OLAF).

 

Your personal data will not be transferred to third countries or international organisations.

 

The processing of your data will not include automated decision-making (such as profiling).

 

Your personal data will be kept for a maximum period of 36 months from after the cancellation of the BUILD UP account. Data will be automatically deleted at the end of this period.

 

You have the right to access your personal data and to request your personal data to be rectified, if the data is inaccurate or incomplete; where applicable, you have the right to request restriction or to object to processing, to request a copy or erasure of your personal data held by the data controller. If processing is based on your consent, you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of the processing based on your consent before its withdrawal.

 

Your request to exercise one of the above rights will be dealt with without undue delay and within one month.

 

Your right to information, access, rectification, erasure, restriction or objection to processing, communication of a personal data breach or confidentiality of electronic communications may be restricted only under certain specific conditions as set out in the EASME Restriction Decision in accordance with Article 25 of Regulation (EU) 2018/1725.

 

If you have any queries any queries concerning the processing of your personal data, you may address them until 31 March 2021 to the Head of Unit of B1 of the Executive Agency for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (EASME) via: EASME-Energy@ec.europa.eu and as of 1 April 2021 to the CINEA4.

 

You shall have right of recourse to the EASME Data Protection Officer until 31 March 2021 at EASME-DPO@ec.europa.eu and as of 1 April to the CINEA DPO as well as any time to the European Data Protection Supervisor at https://edps.europa.eu.
