Europe has faced crises like COVID-19 and energy shortages, underscoring the importance of sustainable buildings. To achieve this, affordable energy and efficient housing are crucial. The Renovation Wave, despite challenges, can be propelled forward by establishing sub-national hubs. These hubs would raise awareness, offer advice, connect customers with solutions, and coordinate training.

The Save the Homes project, supported by partners like ICLEI, outlines steps for creating One-Stop-Shops (OSS) for renovations. This requires political backing, understanding local building stocks, engaging stakeholders, establishing a business model, legal alignment, and a customer-focused approach. Although the project is ending, its resources will aid local governments in decarbonising and enhancing housing resilience.
